BREATHE

The breath is life. No breath, no life. No quality breathing, no quality life. It’s the cold hard facts. Why do we focus so little on something we need so much?

In Genesis 2:7, the Word says, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

WOWWWW.... God BREATHED the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.

Breathing is what brings our soul to life, yet we refuse to go deep into it. We relegate our breaths to the shallow recess of our chest refusing to feel its rejuvenating powers, instead resisting it, restricting it as if we prefer the antithesis of the breath, which death.

We gasp for what rightly belongs to us. God breathed the breath of life into Adam’s nostrils, then he became a living soul. Own the breath, own it! I said OWN IT! It belongs to us.

Let’s allow the breath of our inhales to rightfully surpass the shallow residence it tends to occupy in our chest. Let’s consciously, intentionally, with all awareness, BREATHE. Let’s take the time to slowly, intentionally fill our lungs with every precious God given breath, and feel the power of it’s physical manifestations, as we witness out bellies expand in response to the creative, rhythmic flow of air, lungs, diaphragm, and all of the internal jewels of life and body that make it so.

And, then there’s the gift of sweet release, the exhale. When given it’s due respect, oh how sweet it is. Restricting the inhale to the chest hinders it’s flow, it is not designed to stop there, so it finds the quickest way/exhale out, only to become imprisoned in a perpetual state of shallowness. This shallowness begins to comb the halls of our being, arranging the intricacies of our psyche perpetuating anxiety, depression, fatigue, brain fog, etc., etc. STOPPP!

Just exhale. Allow that breath that is rightfully seated deep within to go free as we authorize the aforementioned expansiveness of the belly to release, to retract, to slowly retreat, to draw in, and experience the cleansing thrust of the exhale. Yes, we must authorize this process.

Upon authorization to truly, genuinely BREATHE, we give birth to holistic healing from the seed of the breath.

Breathe my friends, breathe.
